Rob found that working on different cars in the frenetic setting of a pit garage on race day could sometimes cause momentary confusion as to which way to turn the tie rod ends. To avoid making any errors in the heat of the moment, he created small magnetic stickers to affix to the car thus making the process a no-brainer - they remind him of exactly which way to turn the wrench when underneath the car.

Following the directional instructions on his new handy-dandy magnets, Rob uses the end wrench to turn the inner tie rod, then employs the ToeTal tool to measure from the rim edge to the string along the side of the vehicle. The difference in the leading edge measurement to the trailing edge measurement on the rim is the toe measurement for that side. Repeat on the other side, and you've got the toe measurements you need to make whatever adjustments you desire. Log it, adjust it, rinse and repeat, over and over!
